The Lizards Nature Reserve (NNR) covers 2000 hectares of lowland heath and coastal grassland on the Peninsula.
The lowland heath of the Lizard is designated as an internationally important habitat because of its unique variety of plants.
The heathers are at their finest from July to September when there can be breathtaking displays of Cornish heath, cross leaved heath,
bell heather and ling. There can be excellent displays of orchids in May & June and the clifftops ablaze with colour from
April to October.
